After-Installation Care

Why the First Few Hours Matter

A new windshield may look finished immediately, but the adhesive needs time to bond safely. Your windshield is part of your vehicle's safety system.

Premiere Auto Glass uses a one-hour safe drive-away time. Drive only after your technician confirms the vehicle is cleared.

Your 5-Step Aftercare Guide

Follow these essential steps to ensure your new windshield bonds safely and performs correctly.

Wait for Clearance

Do not drive just because the glass looks secure. Wait for your technician's specific one-hour clearance and follow their instructions over general guidelines.

1

Be Gentle

Open and close doors gently. Avoid rough driving and unnecessary impacts. Keep accessories and pressure off the windshield until approved.

2

Leave Tape Alone

Do not remove retention tape early. Ask your technician when it can be removed. Never press on edges or pull at moldings yourself.

3

Delay Car Washes

Avoid high-pressure washes. Wait 24–48 hours before an automated wash. Ask which cleaning products are safe for your glass and trim.

4

Confirm ADAS

Cameras behind the glass may need recalibration. Ask if ADAS calibration is required and completed. Don't assume no warning lights means it's safe.

When to Contact the Installer

Contact Premiere Auto Glass if you notice water leaks, unusual wind noise, loose trim, unexpected camera or ADAS alerts, or any concern about the new windshield.

Do not attempt to reseal the glass with household adhesives. A quick follow-up is better than ignoring a possible installation issue.
